SSV Mulgrave District Cross Country Competition

Picture
SSV District Cross Country

On Wednesday, 23 May 37 Junior School girls headed to Nortons Park to compete in the SSV Mulgrave District Cross Country. It was a cold morning however that did not deter our girls or the many parents who came to show their support. Parents cheered on the sidelines as their daughters ran up and down hills, through long grass and finally crossed the finish line hot and exhausted. We had some outstanding results that helped PLC achieve fifth place overall even while only competing in half of the events of the day (girls events only).

About 70 girls from a variety of schools ran in each age group, a special mention to the following girls who placed in the top 10:

Under 10’s
Nikki Singh

Under 11’s
Tahlia Vessey
Chloe Chan

Under 12/13’s
Felicity Wei
Jesslyn Quach

These girls will progress to the Monash Waverley Division Cross Country, held at Norton’s Park on June 7th and we wish them the best of luck.

All the girls from the team had been training hard for this event in Running Group on Thursday mornings and many in our Huff and Puff running sessions as well and the outstanding results are a testament to their training. Well done to all the girls below who represented PLC at the District Cross Country!
