SSV Regional Cross Country Competition

Picture

SSV Eastern Metropolitan Regional Cross Country Newsletter

On Tuesday, 19 June, Felicity Wei travelled to the Yarra Glen Race Course for the School Sports Victoria Regional Cross Country.

She had already run extremely well, with a first place finish in the District competition and a second place finish in the Division competition, progressing her through to the Regional level.

It was a great effort to see Felicity at this level. This is a credit to her hard training and high levels of motivation throughout the year.

On race day the weather was sunny and the track was dry which provided fast running conditions. Felicity ran a great race with crowded race numbers on a narrow course. With only the top 12 girls from a field of 100 progressing through to the State Cross Country Championships, competition was tough. Felicity  should be congratulated on an excellent race finishing in 16th position overall and for representing PLC at the Regional level, a fantastic effort.

I would also like to take this chance to thank our wonderful group of parents who dropped their girls off before school for running training each week and some were even able to take time out from their busy schedules to come and support the girls at the District, Division and Regional Cross Country events. We are lucky to have such dedicated and supportive parents and students.

Congratulations to our whole Cross Country team
