SSV State Athletics Competition

Picture
Our Final SSV Competition for 2018 was State Athletics. Aniela Brotto-Janson was our last remaining Athlete as she had progressed through the District, Division and Regional Athletics competitions. After months of lunchtime trainings dating back to Term 2 the state competition day had finally arrived. Aniela battled it out at the SSV State Primary Track and Field competition held at Lakeside Stadium Albert Park on Monday 29 October.

Aniela qualified for the 11 Year Old Girls Multi-Class 100m and Shot Put competition and competed against the top 6 athletes from all around Victoria. After so many girls had competed previously, it was a fantastic effort to be going up against the best in the state. After a fantastic sprint in the 100m race, Aniela was marshalled to the Shot Put competition. She threw a personal best throw of 5.43m on her opening throw of the day, which helped elevate her to first position and the overall title of State Champion.

Aniela’s phenomenal effort amongst such talent earned her a position on the Victorian Track and Field Team where she will represent Victoria in the upcoming Track and Field National Championships in late November. We wish her all the best.
